We are embarking on a woodland adventure and will be inviting your children to join us for 6 weeks of forest school learning. Forest School is an inspirational process, that offers children regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or other natural environment.
Your child will be invited to join us for Forest School sessions over a 6 week period. These 6 week periods will rotate and allow all children across all of our settings the opportunity to explore the benefits of outdoor learning. At present the sessions will take place on a Wednesday morning 9:30 - 11:30 at Flatts Lane Woodland Park, Normanby. As the project develops we plan on extending the sessions and adding extra days at different sites across Teesside.
Our sessions are ran in conjunction with a fully qualified Forest School teacher who will encourage the children's learning and give them the opportunity to take part in tasks such as shelter and den building, safe fire making, outdoor cooking, mini beast hunting and woodland crafts all whilst exploring the woodland safely and freely with their normal nursery team on hand to support them.
Don't worry, we haven't left you out! Parents are free to join us at any of their child's sessions throughout the 6 week period and actively encouraged to come along and find out what Forest School is all about.
When it's your child's turn to start their woodland adventure, you will receive a event notification through our Famly App. By responding to the RSVP for this event you are granting permission for your child to attend 6 Forest School sessions over the following 6 week period. If you fail to respond, we will contact you to ask permission before your child's place is confirmed for Forest School.
If you have any questions at all about Forest School please contact your Nursery Manager who will be happy to help and talk you through the Forest School ethos and why it is becoming part of everyday life at Rosedene.
Let the adventure begin...
