A Right Royal Knees Up!

This month has been extremely busy across our 16 settings as the countdown to the Royal Wedding commenced. The children have ensured the big day was celebrated in typical Rosedene style with lots of arts, crafts, baking, socialising and of course lots of parties!

Our St Paul's Billingham setting was no exception. On Saturday 12th May, the team at St Paul's, headed by Manager Charlotte held a Royal Wedding themed Open Day for the children, their families and the surrounding local community to attend.

The nursery itself was transformed into a patriotic tribute to all things Great Britain. With lots of bunting, royal portraits, a wedding themed photo booth and of course lots of union jacks! The children had also been busy making crowns and tiaras for their guests to wear on the day to ensure they were feeling particularly regal.

The St Paul's team also treat their guests to an Afternoon Tea which was fit for Windsor Castle itself. This included traditional finger sandwiches and homemade scones with clotted cream and strawberries.

We would also like to send a huge thank you to the team at Billingham Fire Station. We thank you for taking the time to come along to our event, it really made the children’s day complete! Not only were they allowed to sit on the fire engine and have their pictures taken, they also learnt all about what it takes to be a firefighter and got a chance to spray the engines huge hose, much to their delight! Other activities included a face painter, bouncy castle, obstacle courses and football matches throughout the day ensuring lots of fun for children of all ages.

All in all the day was a great success. It was amazing to see such a great turn out including the children and their parents but also the staff and their families. This perfectly demonstrates how life at Rosedene does not conclude at 6pm when the nursery closes, we promote a family feel across all of our settings and ensure we build strong relationships not only with the families who attend our settings but also the wider community.

A huge well done to the St Paul's Team including Charlotte, Lauren, Rebecca, Georgia and Melissa. We are so proud of your hard work. Here’s to the next one!
