World Book Day is a registered charity on a mission to give every child and young person a book of their own. It’s also a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world.

Here at Rosedene Nurseries, we are dedicated to developing every child's reading, listening and communication skills from the day they join our Rosedene family. Books are a huge focus within our settings and many of our activity areas are based around your children's favourite stories. With this in mind, we welcome World Book Day and plan to mark the occasion with a whole week of reading based activities.

For World Book Day itself, Thursday 7th March 2019, we are inviting all children to attend nursery dressed as a character from their favourite story book. Also, please send your child's selected story along to nursery with them so that they can share it with their friends.
