About Rosedene Nurseries
Our story - providing quality childcare since 1950
During the 1950’s Mrs Jean Barr founded Rosedene playgroup at Zetland School in Marske-by the sea. This magnificent victorian building was donated to the local people to establish a village school by the Earl of Zetland in 1863. Jean retired in 1993 and current directors John & Clare McCullagh, both former Rosedene pupils, aquired the Nursery. They realised the requirement for early years care in the area and moved swiftly to found a second site at Redcar two years later; the nursery was officially opened by former England international footballer, Jack Charlton.
