Rosedene Nurseries has pledged £10,000 to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
We hosted a blue and yellow day in support of the people displaced by the current conflict, where staff and children across all Rosedene settings attended nursery dressed in the colours of the Ukrainian flag and each donated £1 to the fund.
Rosedene matched every pound raised on the day and has topped up the donation £10,000 to Ukraine.
Our Rosedene team was inspired by the Ukrainian mother of one of the Rosedene children, who was collecting supplies for people in need. After putting out an appeal to other parents, Rosedene was inundated with donations, so much so, we had to locate two further buses heading to Ukraine to deliver the supplies.
Jodie, manager at Rosedene Egglescliffe, said: “We’ve all been impacted by the news from Ukraine over the past few weeks, particularly when children and their families have been affected, and we wanted to do something to help.
“The parents and staff did an amazing job to raise collect donations and give money, and I think it’s fantastic that Rosedene as a business is matching that pound for pound.
“We’re all very keen to do more to support the families in Ukraine, so I’m sure we’ll have more events in the future.”
Rosedene Nurseries Egglescliffe has achieved an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the regulator Ofsted for many of its childcare services.
