At Rosedene Nurseries, we’re always looking for new ways to support development  - and our brand-new outdoor educational tipis in Easterside and Northallerton are already making a huge impact!

They might look like traditional tipis, but for children, they are spaces for imagination, exploration and endless learning opportunities. Each tipi has been carefully designed with children in mind, featuring cosy reading nooks, mindfulness corners, areas for creative play, and forest school-inspired activities. Whether it's a calm moment of yoga or a muddy nature adventure, there's something for every child to enjoy.

While both tipis share the same mission, they’ve been thoughtfully tailored to suit the needs of each setting:

  • At Rosedene Easterside, the tipi extends the indoor classroom outdoors, creating a seamless flow between structured learning and free exploration.

  • At Rosedene Northallerton, the tipi enriches our outdoor offering, giving children even more opportunities to learn, play, and thrive in a natural environment.

The Easterside tipi was officially opened with a special celebration attended by the Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, Jo Ropner, and local families, while the Northallerton tipi welcomed Sir Stuart Carlton from North Yorkshire Council. Both events offered wonderful opportunities for discovery, hands-on learning, and a shared enthusiasm for our new learning environments at Rosedene.

As Alice Haslam, our Managing Director, puts it:"Everything we do at Rosedene is grounded in the belief that children thrive in environments that nurture their curiosity and wellbeing. These tipis are a perfect example of that."

We’re proud to keep developing our settings in ways that stay engaging, meaningful, and full of opportunities for our children. We’re excited for more curiosity-driven learning and endless experiences to explore this new space.
