Based at the Redhill Family Hub in Stockton and just opened in 2023, the nursery received top marks for the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management – placing it among the best early years providers in the region.

In a glowing report, inspectors wrote: “Children thrive at this exceptional and highly stimulating nursery where they are excited and motivated to learn.” They praised the warm, welcoming atmosphere and strong relationships, noting how babies “immediately reach out their arms when they see staff,” and how children settle “very excited at meeting their friends and eager for their learning to begin.”

Language development and confidence-building were described as core strengths: “Ensuring children are immersed in a language-rich environment is at the heart of the curriculum… Children are self-assured and very happy to express their own ideas and needs.” Staff were said to “superbly support children to be confident, to make their own choices and develop their ability to assess risks from a very early age.”

Inspectors also praised the nursery’s creative and responsive teaching, highlighting how “staff are meticulous in planning a stimulating and innovative curriculum”, and how they expertly harness children's interests to inspire learning, such as when children explored firefighting or planted apple pips to learn about food origins.

The nursery’s inclusive approach was noted as a key strength; “Staff are highly attuned to the needs of children… This enables any gaps in children's development to be highlighted and acted upon.”

Inspectors celebrated the nursery’s strong community links, calling Rosedene Redhill “a valuable part of the local community”, where “families and children can join together in a comfortable and nurturing environment.”

Alice Haslam, managing director, said: “This Outstanding result is a testament to the talent, compassion, and dedication of our Redhill team. Achieving three consecutive Outstanding Ofsted ratings across our nurseries is something we’re incredibly proud of. It reflects our mission to provide high-quality, inclusive early years education that empowers every child and family we serve.”

This latest outstanding result follows outstanding ratings at Rosedene’s Egglescliffe and Easterside nurseries.

Thank you to all our team, our parents, children and Stockton Local Authority who have been on this journey with us and helped make this result possible!
