Rosedene Saltburn Childrens Nursery Celebrates Outstanding Ofsted Rating Ahead of 20th Anniversary

We are absolutely thrilled to share some wonderful news with our families. Rosedene Saltburn has officially been rated Outstanding by Ofsted!

This is the highest rating a nursery can achieve, and it makes the celebration even sweeter as our Saltburn nursery gets ready to enter its 20th year in 2026.

Previously rated Good, our Saltburn nursery now joins three other Rosedene settings that have also achieved Outstanding within the last 12 months. This is a huge milestone for our Rosedene family, and one that highlights the passion and commitment of our amazing team.

Situated in the beautiful Saltburn-by-the-sea, our nursery currently welcomes 150 children every week. Ofsted inspectors were full of praise for our nursery, rating us Outstanding across all four inspection areas:

• Quality of Education

• Behaviour and Attitudes

• Personal Development

• Leadership and Management

The inspection report was filled with heart-warming feedback about both the children and the staff. Inspectors noted:

“A significant feature of the nursery is children being immersed in an environment rich in language. Staff empower children to develop the self-assurance and confidence required to become skilful communicators. They inspire children to develop a wide-ranging vocabulary.”

They also praised the kindness and care shown by children, saying:

“Children's behaviour is exemplary. Older children consistently treat all children and adults with kindness and respect. They are mindful of the needs and feelings of others. Children value one another's contributions during their play.”

And when it came to our management team, inspectors described them as “inspirational”, commending their dedication to meeting the needs of both children and families while always striving for improvement.

Of course, one of the most important voices in any Ofsted report is that of parents. One parent shared this lovely feedback:

It’s been wonderful to see how much our daughter has grown in confidence, independence, and social skills since starting. She absolutely loves her days at nursery — whether it’s exploring new activities, playing with her friends, or enjoying story time, she always comes home happy and full of excitement about what she’s done.

“To be rated Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted is an incredible accomplishment. Our Saltburn nursery will be 20 years old next year, so to be entering our anniversary year with an Outstanding rating is very special and highlights the fantastic hard-working team we have.

What really stands out to me about this report is that the inspectors recognised the high-quality team we have in place. They saw how our educators help every child develop to the very best of their abilities, right from the baby room onwards. We know that during the first five years of life, children’s brains develop faster than at any other time, which is why we make sure every moment matters.”

As we step into our 20th year, this Outstanding rating feels like the perfect way to celebrate the journey so far and look forward to the exciting years ahead.
